Suno.ai
Product Design Lead
2023-2024
A project with Feels Like

Overview:
As a product designer at Feels Like, I worked as the lead designer on Suno.ai’s launch site and brand identity. Suno is an AI startup that lets anyone go from idea to audio in seconds, and they came to us to create an eye-catching landing page that would generate excitement and introduce their brand to the world in a way that felt intuitive, joyful, and creatively empowering.

I led design across the web experience and visual identity, translating the feel of the product into a bold, expressive digital presence that builds curiosity and brand awareness.

My role:
I was responsible for developing the core concept for the site and driving the design system that brought cohesion and personality to the brand. I helped create a new logo and standalone mark that could flex across digital and physical touchpoints, ensuring it felt expressive, iconic, and scalable. From early ideation through detailed execution, I shaped a visual language that felt distinct, musical, and ready to grow with the product. I also partnered closely with engineering to ensure the final experience matched the creative vision in both form and function.

Crafting the Look & Feel:
I set out to design an experience that felt as dynamic and expressive as the music Suno makes possible. The visual language combined a minimal, high-contrast layout system with playful graphic elements like repeating waveforms, oversized type, and layered textures to evoke rhythm and movement. A carefully tuned palette of off-whites, deep blacks, and vibrant accents brought energy without overwhelming the interface.

A core element of the experience was the custom-built ticker mechanism, which was designed to evoke the feel of a radio dial. As users scrolled, a circular interface rotated through featured prompts, each paired with a Suno-generated track. Songs played automatically, giving visitors an immediate and immersive sense of the tool’s creative potential. The interaction was crafted to feel seamless and exploratory, inviting users to imagine the possibilities.

From page structure and layout flow to motion and micro-interactions, I choreographed the site experience to feel intuitive and engaging. I also defined the foundational rules for typography, spacing, and animation, creating a system that was bold, flexible, and easy to extend across future touch points.

Collaborative Iteration & Refinement:
The project moved quickly, with just a few months to go from discovery to launch. I worked within a small, nimble team, collaborating closely with a design director, project manager, brand and motion designer, and engineer. I owned the UX and visual direction of the site, and drove decisions with fast-turnaround prototypes and feedback loops. Regular check-ins with the Suno team kept us aligned and allowed me to respond quickly to feedback while maintaining creative momentum. This hands-on, iterative approach helped bring a polished, production-ready site to life under tight timelines.

Our Impact:
The goal was to create a landing page that made a strong first impression, but I also built a flexible system that Suno could continue to scale. The launch was recognized with a 2024 Webby Award for Best Home Page, highlighting the custom scroll-driven interface and the way the experience captured both brand and product in a single, cohesive moment.

More importantly, the foundation I created, from the brand identity to the adaptable UI system, has scaled with Suno as they continue to grow. It now supports mobile apps, community tools, and deeper creative workflows, helping define a new category of music-making for a broader audience.
