Android XRUX Designer
January 2024 - Present

Challenge:
To design and implement a cohesive and intuitive UX and visual language for the Android XR headset, requiring the creation of novel interface and interaction paradigms for a next-generation platform.

Process:
My team collaborated closely with the UXR team to gain insights, which directly shaped the platform's design direction. I played a key role in designing multiple system experiences and led the visual design for a flagship application, managing the process from initial user flows and interactive prototypes to iterative refinement through usability testing. Simultaneously, I focused on establishing a cohesive and scalable visual language specifically tailored for the XR environment, ensuring it aligned with the platform's strategic vision. I worked closely with the engineering team, providing frequent design iterations, detailed specifications, and proactively addressing any technical feasibility concerns. To gain stakeholder buy-in, I regularly presented design concepts, using data and insights from UXR to showcase how design decisions influenced the user experience. After finalizing the design, I created a detailed set of specifications, for both engineering implementation and alignment with the broader team and partners.

Results:
Established a consistent visual language, focused on usability, secured stakeholder buy-in, and created a scalable design system.
